Developmental Play Programs
Developmental Play Programs
A therapeutic, therapist-led alternative to traditional preschool designed to support early development.
Our Developmental Play Groups provide a therapist-led, therapeutic environment where children build critical developmental skills through play, social interaction, and guided activities. These groups are intentionally designed and led by pediatric occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physical therapists to support social-emotional development, communication, motor skills, and emotional regulation in a natural, engaging setting.
Our play groups also serve as a supportive bridge to preschool, helping children develop the confidence, independence, and foundational skills needed to transition successfully into school environments.
We offer two specialized programs: Toddle N Talk, designed for toddlers, and Playcare, our therapeutic preschool readiness group for children ages 3–5. Each program is developmentally tailored to support children at their specific stage of growth.
Unlike traditional playgroups, our programs are clinically informed and developmentally focused, allowing children to build foundational skills while participating in meaningful peer interactions.
Through Toddle N Talk and Playcare, we support children in developing:
- Social skills, including interacting with peers, turn-taking, and cooperative play
- Emotional regulation and coping skills
- Communication and language development
- Confidence and independence in a group setting
- Fine motor and gross motor development
- Sensory processing and regulation
- Ability to follow routines and transitions
- Readiness for preschool and structured learning environments
Therapist-Led and Therapeutically Designed
All groups are led by pediatric therapists, including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physical therapists. Each session is intentionally structured to support development across multiple domains while remaining fun, engaging, and child-centered.
Therapists provide individualized support within the group setting and incorporate strategies to support sensory processing, communication, motor development, and emotional regulation.
This therapeutic approach allows children to develop skills that support success both now and in future school environments.
Parent Communication and Support
We believe parent collaboration is an essential part of each child’s progress. Therapists provide ongoing feedback and guidance so families can support their child’s development at home and reinforce skills learned during group sessions.
Our goal is to help children build confidence, develop meaningful social connections, and strengthen the foundational skills needed for long-term success.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if Toddle N Talk or Playcare is a good fit for my child?
These groups are appropriate for children who would benefit from support with social interaction, communication, emotional regulation, or confidence in a group setting. Many families enroll their child to help prepare for preschool, support developmental growth, or provide a structured, supportive peer environment. Our team can help determine which program is the best fit based on your child’s age and developmental needs.
The first two weeks are considered a trial period to ensure that the group is a positive and appropriate fit for both your child and the program. During this time, therapists observe your child’s comfort, participation, and overall success within the group, and we communicate with families to ensure everyone feels confident moving forward. This trial period allows us to be thoughtful and individualized in our approach, helping ensure each child is placed in an environment where they can be successful and supported.
What is the difference between Toddle N Talk and Playcare?
Toddle N Talk focuses on early communication, social engagement, and foundational developmental skills for younger toddlers.
Playcare is a therapeutic preschool readiness program designed for children ages 3–5 and focuses on independence, social skills, emotional regulation, communication, and participation in structured routines to prepare for preschool and kindergarten.
Will I receive feedback about my child’s progress?
Yes. Therapists provide ongoing communication and feedback so you can understand your child’s progress and receive strategies to support their development at home.
Do all children who attend Toddle N Talk or Playcare also receive individualized therapy?
No. Some children who attend Toddle N Talk or Playcare also participate in individual occupational therapy, speech therapy, or physical therapy services, while others attend the playgroups only. Many families enroll their child specifically for the social-emotional growth, peer interaction, and developmental opportunities the groups provide. These programs offer a supportive, therapeutic environment that can benefit children both with and without individual therapy services.
Can participation help determine if my child may benefit from therapy services?
Yes. Because groups are led by licensed therapists, we are able to observe your child’s development in a social setting. If additional support may be beneficial, we will discuss this with you and provide recommendations.
How is Playcare different from a traditional preschool?
Playcare is led by licensed pediatric therapists and is developmentally and therapeutically informed. This allows for additional support in areas such as social development, communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing, helping children build the skills needed for a successful transition to preschool and kindergarten.
